Sharla has been working in the promotional industry for 25+ years, but has spent the past 5 years doing it on a regular basis. She joined the Elevate team in November 2016, and quickly proved to be a reliable, high-performing team member. Most recently, Sharla worked with Elevate on a program in Clarksville, TN, and did an exceptional job in the role of team lead. Despite being a long distance from the event, Sharla arrived early, managed a team of new brand ambassadors, and did it all with a positive attitude.

Sharla exudes natural leadership, but more importantly, she has a high level of dependability that our staffing managers can rely on. She is truly a team player, and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure a successful activation for every client.

Here are some tips from Sharla for being a highly-sought after brand ambassador:


What’s been the key to your success in this industry?

The key to my success in this industry has been a result of my hard work and determination. I’m a highly organized and motivated individual. I love meeting new people, trying new things and creating positive experiences for everyone I encounter. I’ve owned my own businesses, am a team player and am willing to tackle any situation without “ever letting them see me sweat.” I  believe that when you do what you love…it never seems like work! In my life, I’ve chosen to be the Designer of my Destiny. I feel so fortunate and blessed to be able to set my own schedule and pursue projects that are important to me.


How long have you worked with Elevate? What brought you to the Elevate team?

I’ve worked with Elevate for 2 years. I was working a festival in New Orleans and searching for new job opportunities in my field online. I applied to work the FB Innovation Tour and was chosen to be a part of the team in Baton Rouge. I worked with an incredible “larger than life” manager that I respected and now am thankful to call a true friend. Everyone I’ve worked with from the Elevate team has always been friendly, professional and dedicated to setting up the staff and event for success.


What is your secret to frequently getting booked on jobs?

I don’t have a definitive “secret” to getting booked on jobs. Flexibility is key and not all jobs will be a good fit. It’s important to pick and choose wisely…and to accept that sometimes the answer will be “no.” My experience and years in the field enable me to have confidence in my abilities and the good fortune to have positive working relationships with scheduling managers, recruiters, managers, clients and fellow BA’s. I take pride in my work, am always punctual, reliable, professional and courteous.
