Event Spotlight: NBC at London Comic Con 2019

Comic conventions are not just for comic book aficionados. Over the years, these cultural events have transformed into one of the best place for film and television studios to reach consumers on a personal level. In fact, San Diego Comic Con in the United States boasts over 100,000 attendees every year. This past weekend, Movie Comic Media (MCM) hosted their annual 3-day speculative fiction fan convention, London Comic Con. The convention featured gaming, sci-fi, and popular media from all over the globe.

Seeing an opportunity to reach so many, NBC saw London Comic Con as an opportunity to launch their original narrative virtual reality game, Eleven Eleven. It combines the best parts of immersive theatre, cinema, and gaming to create a new format for storytelling, which meant the activation required specialty staff skilled in Oculus VR equipment. Elevate Staffing accepted the challenge, providing a team of 17 staff, 11 of which who were VR demo specialists. These demo specialists gave attendees the best possible experience while ensuring safety. Meanwhile, brand ambassadors were able to draw in London Comic Con attendees to try the experience and educate them about Eleven Eleven to boost brand awareness for NBC and the game.
